9% of U.S. consumers interested in Windows Phone 8

Market research firm ChangeWave has released a number of data research on the concerns of American consumers in Windows Phone 8.

9% said they were likely to buy a Windows Phone 8 phones in the future, with 2% very likely and 7% somewhat likely.
Considering marketing has yet to begin, these findings show Windows Phone 8 will likely have a substantial impact on the smart phone industry,” said Dr. Carton ChangeWave’s VP of Research. .
The survey found Integration with Windows Apps/Devices (36%) was the number 1 reason consumers wanted a Windows Phone.

45% of those interested were undecided to which OEM they would chose, but of the other 55%, more than half (51%) showed a clear preference for Samsung. 7% wanted an HTC and only 35% a Nokia, an indication of the high mindshare Samsung had and the poor mindshare of Nokia in USA.

We are fairly confident however that once started marketing this index will be reversed, simply due to the larger commitment of Nokia Windows phones market, which may result in in advertising to focus on more, vs Samsung, which is much more likely to push their Galaxy s series of handsets.

Rumor: Nokia Lumia 822 has a price, no swappable shell like 820/810?

Variant of the T-Mobile Lumia 820, 810, looks like 820. There are some small differences with the layout of the components, replacement shell means that it is not directly compatible with the 820, but with more cover its own set becomes available, it is not a problems. The Verizon version of the hardware on the other hand, the Lumia 822, has a completely different look.According to some new tipster info, that also means no swappable backplates.

According to the same source, the 822 feels a little cheap and plastic-y. He confirmed that the microSD slot is still in place, and also noted a number of custom Nokia expected, as the presence of Nokia Maps. It sounds like the software is not quite ready to go for the 822 just yet, because it is not recognized by Zune nor Windows itself, although it is not completely unexpected for a equipment has not been released.

Suppose, when 822 finally come to sell, it will start with the bargain basement price just $ 50 on contract. Maybe it's cheap enough to finally tempt some more users to try Windows Phone for the first time?

AT&T customer will not own the gray Lumia 920

When AT & T announced that it will be the exclusive U.S. carrier 920 Lumia (at least for now), confirmed the presence of a cyan version of this handset, which previouslyI've seen teased in a video of Nokia. Unfortunately for international users, that option cyan seems like it will only be available in the U.S.. It is not a total loss, however, it is now becoming clear that the international community is getting access to a color 920 AT & T users will have to go without.

This is not the first time we've taken a close look at the product page of Nokia 920 Lumia tonight, but this time we are not concerned with frequency coverage. While the company's U.S. site for see cyan absent from the international color options, it also shows that the gray version of the phone will not go to AT & T.

It is too early to predict the full spectrum may be available on all versions of the hardware in the future, like 922 rumored for Verizon, but the immediate future, at least, there does not appear to be a way to there is a gray 920 from a U.S. carrier.

Lumia 920 does not work on T-Mobile’s 1700 AWS band

According to Nokia's website, the international version of the Lumia 920 will operate on the frequency bands 850, 900, 1900, and 2100 MHz frequency bands along with "strange" 1700 MHz AWS (T-Mobile's 3G band). This is more or less a sensation in the U.S. when the T-Mobile users can purchase a version of T-Mobile Lumia 920 is not "bound" and still use your T-Mobile SIM.

The WPCentral contact Nokia, they confirmed that this is a "bug" because of the fact Lumia 920 does not support the 1700 MHz frequency. Maybe Nokia is to edit the information on the website, but at least at the present time we still see this information on their website.

Rumor: Microsoft has its own factory to produce the Surface table !

Microsoft has built a dedicated factory in China to produce a new product line of tablet surface, according to a source close to Microsoft employees are familiar with this problem. The plant is said to be "huge" and will also be used to produce retail devices in addition to the production of prototypes.
Build its own factory can allow Microsoft to cut leakage, thus allowing the software giant to keep secret the surface until the official launch in June this year. However, since Microsoft hardware products, including mice, keyboards and Xbox, manufactured by contractors such as Foxconn, this move seems quite extraordinary - even Apple has control famous tight through the supply chain, using contractors to build their devices.

While this would indicate that Microsoft is really serious with the surface as opposed to just positioning them as a "north star" for other OEMs to follow it also fit nicely with the newsrumor that Microsoft is developing Windows phone devices, as reported by BGR and WPCentral.

Indeed, in his recent letter to shareholders, Ballmer said that “there will be times when we build specific devices for specific purposes”. Our source also mentioned that “Surface is just the beginning of a new product range”, though it didn’t go into any more detail.
